C….No no I’m not going to talk about Christmas, (although if you are in an industry that relies heavily on Christmas sales, then you NEED to have been thinking about this months ago!)
C = CAN (Yes, you Can, just maybe not yet)
In my world, I strongly believe that success often comes from more than just a bloody brilliant idea or a sound strategy. It's hugely about the mindset and attitude that we as entrepreneurs and professionals bring to the table. It’s also about building a strong community of people around you. If I said to you go and sit with a load of people that sell meat and you sell vegan food, there will be some similarities but probably not the ones you need - so find your tribe!

Having a "CAN-Do" attitude is a strong belief in your ability to overcome challenges (remember nothing is a challenge it’s Always an opportunity!), achieve goals, and ultimately succeed.

Defining the 'CAN-Do' or 'Hell Yes' Attitude...
A “CAN-Do” or “Hell Yes” attitude is a mindset that is driven by your own internal optimism, resilience, and action taking desire to take on those challenges (opportunities!) with a positive and proactive approach.
It's about believing that, regardless of the obstacles, setbacks, or uncertainties, you have the ability and determination to find solutions, adapt, and ultimately reach your goals.
Don’t always feel like that? Well you know what, nor do I!! But if I tell my brain I don’t want to then that’s what it will take in. So, even if you don’t always have this hell yes attitude, then just remind yourself, you just don’t yet!
Why a CAN-Do or 'Hell Yes' Attitude Matters in Business...
- **Resilience**
Business is rarely a smooth plain sailing journey, if you think it is or it will be, then you are quite frankly lying. There will be many unexpected setbacks, annoying clients, quiet times, market shifts, and increased competition along the road and these will test even the most well-laid plans and strongest mindset.
Having the positive “CAN-Do" or “Hell Yes” Attitude will equip you to have resilience around those setbacks, learn from failures (there will be many!), and KEEP GOING!
- **Problem-Solving and Innovation**
How many ‘problems’ (opportunities) have you come across in life? Jeez, I dread to think how many I have, if you want to know one of my favourtie, ask me about the time I was opening our first ever Flying Tiger store and how none of the furniture fitted down the stairs so I had to hire a van and drive it around cardiff at 3am!)
A positive attitude fosters creativity and innovation. When you approach things with a "CAN-Do" mindset, you're more likely to explore alternative solutions, think ‘outside the box’, and find opportunities in adversity.
**Motivation and Productivity**:
Believing in your ability to succeed fuels motivation and productivity. When you maintain a "“CAN-Do" or “Hell Yes” Attitude, you're more likely to reach ambitious goals, show up, work diligently towards them, and stay committed to your vision. Business can be tough right? It’s fast paced, so being adaptable often will be key. How can you adapt what you do to keep you happy and motivated? A “CAN-Do" or “Hell Yes” Attitude allows you to embrace those changes, adapt to ever evolving circumstances, and turn those challenges into opportunities.

Start by believing in yourself and your abilities. I get it that recognising these strengths and accomplishments may not be as easy as it seems. Start to use them as a foundation for self-confidence, self worth and overall badassery!
Pay attention to your inner dialogue. Replace negative self-talk like I Can't, with positive reframes like I CAN, just not yet, or I AM capable… and reminders of past successes. I personally have created a file that has past feedback, I call it my “I am F’ing Amazing File”. If I’m ever feeling a bit meh, I pick it up and have a scan…re-tell my brain I am amazing!
- **Surround Yourself with bloody good people**:
Surround yourself with supportive and positive people who share your "CAN-Do or “Hell yes” attitude. Their energy, vibe and encouragement will be contagious.
Remember you simply can’t do it all, but you CAN get the right support and people in your space, if those energy sucking vampires are surrounding you, then say goodbye. Think what you CAN achieve by releasing the negative chimps?
A "CAN-Do or “Hell Yes” attitude isn't just a catchy phrase; it's a mindset that can drive your success in business and in life.
By cultivating this attitude, you'll become more resilient, adaptable, and motivated to face the opportunities that come your way. Remember that success in business often starts with believing in YOU.
